Tessanne Chin has been recognized as one of Jamaica's rock & rolling female vocalist, commonly identified by here reggae fusion style, her intense vocal abilities, and her relation to fellow Jamaican songstress, Tami Chynn. Tessanne Chin blew us away with one 2007's sweet summer hits, "Hideaway", featured on VP Reocords' Reggae Gold series. Now she is finally shinning with her debut digital album, In Between Words, which features her hit singles like "Messenger" ,"Flying High" and "Loving You" a duet featuring Trinidadian artist Kees Dieffenthaller.
Tessanne knows how to switch it up between hardcore instrumentals and slow, soulful melodies. Her voice is diverse in range, and she never seems to hit a sour note. This Jamaican vocalist is the product of inspiration from an array of artist including Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Peabo Bryson, Damian Marley, her parents, and older sister Tami. For her young age, she is no stranger to the big stage, being a former member of a Jamaican band called Mile High and touring with Jimmy Cliff for three years before going solo.
Ms. Chin continues to avidly show versatility as a singer, songwriter and guitar player. She frequently collaborates with her sister on song-writing for each others solo projects, and they have recently recorded a duet entitled "You and Me" for Tessanne's new album. She is also known for doing her own soulful, reggae interpretations and covers of popular music such as Foreigner's "I Wanna Know What Love Is", Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved" and Phish's "Free". Tessanne is well on her way to taking the reggae world by storm!
